A super event at Loch Lomond, the 1 km swim was a storming success with great organisation and attracted a diverse group of swimmers into the clear warm water.
The 21.6 mile event was an unprecedented surprisingly warm night with beautiful clear sky for the majority of the night. The last few miles saw the winds blow in from the west and gave the finishing swimmers a real challenge to an already astounding achievement. We saw 5 out of the 10 starters complete the course and walk out onto Drumkinnon beach. A large group of volunteers and supporters were there to welcome them and join in a very well deserved cooked breakfast.
I would like to thank all the volunteers with special thanks going to the safety and fist aid persons involved in the rescue of a member of the public, injured whilst walking along the eastern pathway around 2 miles from Ardlui.
