I am very sorry to have to inform you of the recent death of my father at almost 93 so, though not entirely unexpected at his age, it was a shock as he had not been ill (or no more unwell than he always claimed he was!). Spike Milligan comes to mind!
Here is the (slightly amended) notice that was sent to the Wharfedale and Airedale Observer and the Ilkley Gazette.
CROWE Peter Edwin, passed away on Monday 22 February 2016, aged 92 years, at Baird Lodge, Ely after a long and active life. Former Senior Partner at Hollings Crowe Storr and Co and well known in Otley, Ilkley and the surrounding area. He was a lifelong Methodist, committed Rotarian, youth club leader, Pilot Life Saver, supporter of many associations including RNLI, British Long Distance Swimming, The Salvation Army, St John’s Ambulance (to name a few) and a keen sailor, swimmer, caravanner and a great Rugby supporter.
Dearly loved husband of the late Eunice, brother of the late Rupert and the late Sylvia, proud father of triplets Judith, Elizabeth and the late Susan, much loved by all his daughters, their husbands, grandchildren Daniel, Miles and Susannah, and their spouses and great-grandchildren Mark, Annabelle, Jacob and new born Oliver.
There will be a private family service at Fenland Crematorium, March by invitation only. There will be a Celebration of Life service at Histon Methodist Church, Cambridgeshire, on Thursday 28 April at 11 am to which all are welcome.
