BLDSA Windermere 10.5 miles Seniors & Juniors – all strokes, traditionally costumed and non-traditionally costumed.
Windermere is the longest “Lake” in England with a rich history of people completing the swim. The swim starts at Fell Foot park and finishes at the top end of Windermere just after Ambleside Pier. At 10.5 miles it’s a challenging and iconic swim but you will be treated to beautiful scenery all the way up the body of water.
Only traditionally costumed BLDSA member swimmers will be eligible for the Grand Prix.
Non member and non-traditional costumed places will be limited and will be issued on a first come basis.
You are advised, as the swim is a very big challenge you should have completed an open water swim over 5.5 miles in 3.5 hours. Entries will be considered without this being met, but this will be at the swim secretary’s discretion.
All swimmers are to have one kayak as a minimum to take part in the swim. You can provide your own or the BLDSA can try and provide one for you numbers permitting, this cannot be guaranteed.
BLDSA members providing own crew – £130
BLDSA members with the BLDSA providing Kayak & crew – £250
Juniors will be allowed to swim providing they can give proof of experience in events of this magnitude. See options for pricing from £20
Non member prices are as above +£60.00
Pre-requisites include an open water 5.5 mile swim in 3.5 hours.
